Bill Weinberg, Principal

Clever Content is led by Bill Weinberg, who  combines three decades of open source, mobile/embedded and open systems, telecommunications, automotive, and other technology experience with a background in technology writing, teaching, languages and linguistics.  

Bill has led  open source strategy practices, guided global technology companies and enterprise software organizations in enhancing their ROI from open source, led remediation and migration projects, and helped to launch new initiatives, He was a founding team-member at embedded open source pioneer MontaVista Software, establishing Linux as the preferred  platform for intelligent devices. Bill also worked at the Linux Foundation, Black Duck, OSDL, Lynx Real-Time Systems, Acer Computer Brazil, and Microtec Research.   

His career includes work with industry standards bodies and consortia: he served as GM of the Linux Phone Standards Forum, and Carrier Grade and Mobile Linux Initiative Leader at Open Source Development Labs.  At Lynx Real-Time Systems, he managed POSIX and DO-178B platform certification and worked with the Air Force and DISA on DII-COE.  

Bill is known for his writing and speaking on topics ranging from security to embedded/real-time computing, from application migration to licensing and standardization, and from telecoms infrastructure to mobile applications.
